Our celebration was a blast!!

We had such a great weekend, and have so many people to thank for it!  Over 850 people populated Archerwill for three days, and it was amazing to watch people who hadn't seen each other (in one case for sure for over 50 years!!) catch up with each other!

Over the next while we will be adding to this section, posting up tidbits that people bring in, letters from visitors and residents, and of course... pictures!

But before we do that, we have a few people we'd like to say a great big thank you to.

The organizations who provided services over the weekend: the Hall Board for the pancake breakfast on Saturday, Bethany Lutheran Church for the one on Sunday, the Catholic Church for cold beverages all weekend long, the Archerwill Volunteer Fire Department for the beer gardens and dance on Saturday, the Sports Day Committee for the beer gardens on Friday and Sunday, and the Library for the children's games on Sunday.

The Skating Rink Committee, the Hall Board and the Sport's Day Committee for providing facilities for us to use, and the Village of Archerwill for the most AWESOME fireworks!!  Thank you!

A thank you to all the businesses and individuals that donated items for souvenir kits, and to those who provided monetary donations and use of their equipment.  Your commitment to our vision was amazing!  We'd also like to say a big thank you to the Saskatchewan Centennial department for decorations, souvenir items and wonderful support.  A special thank you to Bethany Lutheran Church for providing us with a meeting room for a year, to Sharon Head for providing us with storage space for our "stuff", and to Family Farmers for giving us an office to work out of.

To the people who booked trade fair tables, and food and beverage booth venues over the weekend - thank you very much!  You gave a very good sampling of what our area has to offer, and the comments we received back were all positive!

Everyone who helped load and unload chairs and tables, to those that helped us decorate and then clean up again, and to those that monitored facilities over the weekend and kept everything running at top speed - a huge thank you.  And thank you to Bill and John for taking care of the "dirty" jobs!  We cannot begin to calculate the number of man hours it took to pull this weekend off, and it could not have happened without your help.

To all of our parade participants, especially the out of town entrants and guests - thank you very much!  This was (in our humble opinion) the best parade I've seen in Archerwill, and the comments received back in the People's Choice Award for the parade were in complete agreement with us!

Thank you to AOK Catering for the cold plate supper, and to Roberta Ewen for the astounding cake on Sunday.  A six foot Saskatchewan Flag was an absolutely perfect choice for the weekend, and tasted delicious to boot!  Thank you also to Bernhard Kaltenbach and his crew for manning the wiener roast on Friday night, and to all the people who provided entertainment over the course of the weekend.  Your extra additions really were appreciated.

To all the people that helped prepare our "Welcome Home" kits, and assisted the committee with decorating our float, working the registration table, parking, ticket sales both before and during the weekend, and to all the kids who acted as our "gophers" bringing us coffee, water, and even a slice of watermelon over the weekend!  Thank you so much!

A very special thank you to the Sweat Shop Crew who spent countless hours working on our calendar, DVD, framed art and souvenir collections: Adeline Wilson, Genene Zinger and Elaine Hughes.  Over 600 combined hours went into those items, and the results certainly showed your dedication and commitment.

To the artists who donated works of art for our Art Auction - thank you so much!  And to Sherwin Petersen and Kirstyn Moore for ably handling the Art Auction itself.  It was entertaining and amusing... thank you!

A big hats off to the people who organized events on our behalf: Sandy Wilson for the parade, Laurie Pederson for the Trade Fair, Jody Lupien for the Food Court and Hall Displays, Marlene Lozinski for the Saturday afternoon entertainment, and to all those people who assisted them.

And finally to the people that took the time to register and attend our homecoming, and to those that registered but were unable to attend, even to those that did not register but showed up to join us... we thank you very much!

Like one of the parade floats said, "we would like to thank the community of Archerwill for all their help."  We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, and that they will remember it all for years to come.
